Expand health care options in Norfolk, NE

Two Nebraska-based developers, Chief Development and MJA Development, collaborated to break ground on a 55 acre development located in Norfolk, NE. The goal of this development is to provide a continuum of care to meet the needs of the internal and external community.

With full support from the Norfolk community, the city annexed the 55 acres, approved the rezoning and redevelopment agreement and approved Tax Increment Financing for this project. Without the support of the city and these crucial development tools, this project would not have been able to get off the ground. The proposed development will undoubtedly have a positive impact on Norfolk through increased amenities, increased economic activity, generation of local sales tax and an increase in jobs.

The first phase of the Fountain Point development project includes a 70,000-square-foot medical office complex and a senior living community facility that is being developed through a partnership with Heritage Communities of Omaha. The 87-bed senior housing campus will be built on five acres of land and encompass about 90,000 square feet. Apartments will be built on the south 12 acres of the development, with 110 units coming online in phase 1. The development features green space, water features, a hike and bike trail that will connect to the Cowboy Trail and strategic entry and exit points for traffic to have ease of access to the facilities.

Construction on the medical office building began in October of 2017, with planned construction on the assisted living and apartments to begin in the spring of 2018. The vision for this project is to provide Norfolk with the additional housing that it needs and to build upon the incredible medical community that already exists.
