Aurora Co-op Redevelopment Site

Property Summary

Chief has completed the redevelopment of the Aurora Co-op site in Grand Island, Nebraska. The nine acre Aurora Co-op parcel of land was re-platted and repurposed for new commercial and industrial use. The development process included providing assistance to get the site designated as blighted and substandard, acquiring tax-increment financing (TIF), utilizing Community Redevelopment Authority (CRA) funding, Federal and State New Market Tax Credits (NMTC), LB-840 funds for job creation, and working with the City of Grand Island on a redevelopment agreement. To complete this project, over 10 outdated structures were removed and approximately 100,000 square feet of new construction was completed. This property is now the home of Chief Fabrication and the warehouse facility for Goodwill Industry of Greater NE.
